You can file a linen shirt dress under things I never knew I needed for late spring and summer! I’ve always been skeptical of linen. In theory I love it because it’s summery and chic, but more often than not I find it to be wrinkly and unflattering on me.
Enter the Boden linen shirt dress. This dress is a linen-cotton blend which definitely works in it’s favor. It has all the benefits of both which results in a feel very breathable, sturdy and flattering piece. I absolutely love the shape of this dress, and it doesn’t wrinkle as easily as linen pieces I’ve owned in the past.
For this post I styled this dress two ways — dressed up and dressed down. This is something that I want to start doing more of here on the blog because I feel like it’s important to get multiple outfit options out of every piece in your closet. It’s crazy how even swapping out a pair of heels for flats can completely change a look.
First up is dressed up. I wouldn’t say this is a suuupper dressy look, but it’s definitely great for the office followed by some drinks or dinner afterwards. I think you could also wear this outfit to a baby shower, engagement party, etc.
These Castañer wedges have been my best spring/summer purchase to date. I’ve been wearing them nonstop (recently seen on the blog here) and can assure you that they are very comfortable. I’m having trouble finding this exact style online (most are sold out), but I found a very similar pair here and my exact style in blue (which I love/want) here.
I finished this outfit off with my new favorite Hat Attack bag. This bag is actually part of a giveaway that I’m hosting on my Instagram right now, so if you haven’t entered yet click here to find out how!
To dress this piece down a little I opted to remove the wedges and add a pair of raffia mules. Similar to this dress, these mules are also by Boden and they are too cute. I feel like I’ll be spending a lot of time in these mules (and outfit) throughout the next couple of months.
Dressed Up: Dress (c/o), Wedges (similar here and here), Bag, Sunglasses
