Denim on Denim for a Good Cause and a Fun Event I’m Hosting

If you’ve ever read this blog you probably know that I’m a big J.Crew fan. I would say that most days I am wearing at least one item of clothing or an accessory by the brand. With that thought in mind, you can imagine that I frequent my local J.Crew (Stamford) quite a bit. About a month ago while I was shopping the store asked me if I’d like to partner on a denim event (with a charity component)  and of course I said yes. I’ll share all the details on J.Crew’s denim recycling program and my denim on denim outfit below, but if you’re local to Connecticut, the event is tomorrow night at 6 p.m. at the Stamford Town Center J.Crew. There will be light refreshments served, and if you bring in a pair of old denim to donate to J.Crew’s partner Blue Jeans Go Green you will receive $20 off a new pair. You can bring as many pairs of jeans as you’d like (one $20 off coupon per pair you donate) and the $20 off is valid throughout 2018.

J.Crew announced early in 2018 that they would be partnering with Blue Jeans Go Green (parent organization is Cotton Incorporated) as part of a denim recycling program. Blue Jeans Go Green takes recycled denim and turns it into housing insulation for communities that need it. Throughout this year you can bring in any pair of gently used denim (from any store) and donate them in exchange from $20 a brand new J.Crew pair — win win in my book!

What makes this promotion even sweeter is that J.Crew recently released a bunch of new denim styles. I picked up the jeans pictured in this post a couple months back and I think they might be the best pair I’ve ever bought from the brand. I’ve paired them here with a chambray shirt, also by J.Crew, for a denim on denim look. I am a huge fan of denim on denim (read: Canadian Tuxedo) and this is definitely the outfit I will be wearing to the event I’m hosting tomorrow night.
