When I started this blog, I wanted it to be a place where I share all of the things that I love with all of you (my readers). Although you see lots of my favorite clothing on a regular basis, and from time to time some of my favorite restaurants and shops in the Places I’m Loving series, I felt that I was missing out on sharing everything in between.
From plants to accessories and books, I feel like every week I find something new to be obsessed with, which is why I’ve decided to launch a new series on Emily Lucille called Favorite Things. This series will be a place where I can share anything I’m excited about, whether it’s a new beauty product, snack or movie, etc. on a weekly (most of the time) basis.
Continue reading below to see some of my favorite things this week…
1. Ann Patchett’s Commonwealth
After seeing this book make an appearance in numerous Instagram stories/posts, I decided to see what all the hype was about. I picked up this book in the airport while making my way home from Nashville a few days ago, and I haven’t put it down since. I am only about half way through, but I am definitely loving it. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for their next good read!
2. J.Crew’s Antique-Gold Hoop Earrings
A few weeks ago I saw my very chic, cool and stylish friend Emily rocking hoop earrings. I remember being a huge hoop fan back in the day, but I probably haven’t worn a pair in over ten years, so I was skeptical to incorporate them back into my accessory lineup. Shortly after I saw Emily wearing her hoop earrings I swear I started to see them popping up everywhere, pretty much affirming that I needed a pair in my life. This past weekend I came across J.Crew’s antique-gold hoop earrings and immediately purchased them. I have been wearing them ever since, and I can’t wait to expand my collection.
This past weekend my mom came to Stamford to visit us, and I knew we needed to take her to Terrain in Westport. If you’ve never been, Terrain has a few locations and is part of URBN brands, which includes BHLDN, Free People, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. Essentially, Terrain is everything home and garden heaven. They have tons of plants and succulents along with a restaurant, which makes the whole experience even better.
We picked up two new plants; a lemon button fern and a string of pearls succulent. I love them both and they fit right in with the rest of the plants in our apartment. If you live near Westport, CT and haven’t checked out Terrain, I highly recommend it. If you’re not local, check the Terrain website for additional locations.
