I was originally planning on doing this series every couple of weeks, but I received some positive feedback on the first post so I’m going to try and make it a weekly thing! If you missed my first Life Lately post you can check it out here.
Last weekend Bill and I decided we wanted to spend Saturday in the city. It was gorgeous out so we knew we wanted to check out Hudson Yards and then walk the High Line. If you’re not familiar with the High Line there’s an entrance right behind Hudson Yards and you can walk the entirety of it all the way down to Chelsea. That’s what we did and it was a great experience.
From there we made our way over to the West Village (one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods) and walked around for a couple of hours. We had a drink (at The Happiest Hour which serves up delicious tiki-inspired cocktails) and then made our way over to L’Artusi to try and get a spot at the bar for dinner.
We didn’t make a res, but we got there right when they opened at 5:30 (there was already a line) and put our names down. Ten minutes later we got a seat at the bar and had an amazing meal. I highly recommend the spaghetti — truly one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had!
I got this light pink Lele Sadoughi headband as a gift and I’m obsessed. I have the same one in navy and wear it all the time. I have a feeling I’ll be living in this one all summer.
J.Crew’s having a big sale right now — 30-50% off with the code GETAWAY. Pretty much everything is on sale, including this top I shared on the blog last week. It was hard not to go crazy, but I restrained myself and only ordered one thing — this white dress for our trip to Nantucket next month!
My friend Em of Vita Brillanti just launched her first clothing line! She sent me The OG Crewneck and I’m obsessed. It’s so soft and perfect for summer nights. You can shop her line here!
Tuesday night I went to the Hey Stamford Food Festival preview. If you’re local you definitely need to check out this event. I went last year and it was great, but this year it’s going to be even better. The event will feature 40 local food trucks and vendors along with a Beer Garden and live music. The event is set for Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Mill River Park.
Last night I came across a ton of pictures from our trip to Australia on Bill’s phone. I had never seen any of these and it’s making me miss this trip so much. I’ve yet to do a blog post about Australia, but I think it’s time that I finally start it. We spent time in Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Melbourne and Sydney so there’s a lot to go through, but I’m excited to share it with all of you soon.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
