I’ve shared my fall wish list for this year multiple times on Instagram, but as I’ve started to check items off it felt like it needed to be moved over to the blog.
It’s been a while since I’ve shopped for wardrobe staples or really for a new season in general. Most of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 was spent focusing on buying for our wedding. I was so worried about outfits for my bachelorette, shower, rehearsal dinner/wedding weekend and honeymoon that I wasn’t really in the market for anything else.
Now that our wedding and honeymoon are wrapped up (I know I still have so many blog post to write and I promise I will), I’ve started to give my fall wardrobe a bit of a boost. I created a list of items I knew I wanted for fall on my phone and I am trying my absolute hardest to stick to it. The idea here is that if it’s not on the list, I don’t buy it. This will hopefully keep me on track and set me up with a versatile wardrobe to get me through the cooler months.
For those of you who haven’t seen my list, I’ll share it below along with what I’ve checked off to-date. If I purchased it, I’ll share exactly what I ordered. If I haven’t purchased something yet, I’m most likely still looking for exactly the right piece. I’ll continue to update this post as I order and things arrive.

WHAT I’VE BOUGHT
- White (slightly oversized) Button-Down Shirt
- I went with The Deep End button down by AYR. It hasn’t arrived yet but I have high hopes. I ordered a size large as I do want it to fit oversized.
- La Ligne Marin Sweater
- The La Ligne Marin Sweater is definitely an investment, but one I’ve had my eye on for a bit. My best friend has it and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since I saw it. This arrived and fits perfectly. I got the navy and cream. I ordered a size large.
- New Balances
- This proved to be one of the more difficult purchases on my list. I had my eye on two pairs (one all white and one white and tan) on Shopbop but both sold out before I could get my hands on them. I ended up finding a pair on a random website and they’ve yet to arrive. If they get here and all is well I’ll share them but because I’ve never ordered I don’t want to share before I know they’re legit.
- Kule Striped Shirt
- The Kule striped shirt I ordered is definitely an early favorite. This shirt arrived and it’s perfect. I ordered the brown and white and love it. I know some people have had trouble navigating sizing but I ordered the large and it fits exactly how I wanted. Slightly oversized. If you’re looking for a tight shirt I’d maybe (?) size down but that’s not what I wanted.
- Chunky Loafers
- These Franco Sarto chunky loafers look very promising. They haven’t arrived yet but I have high hopes! Ordered my normal size.
- Manolo Mules Look-Alike
- I forget where I originally saw these Manolo look-alikes, and the shipping date wasn’t ideal (end of the month/early October), but I had to try them out. I’ll update you once they arrive! I bought my normal size.
- Transitional Dress
- Saw this dress in J.Crew over Labor Day Weekend and had to have it. I love the blue/brown combo and know I’ll be able to wear this layered with sweaters and high boots well into fall. I ordered a medium which is my typical size in most J.Crew dresses and tops.
- Tall Brown Suede Boots
- If you can’t tell I am really, really feeling brown this season. I needed a new pair of suede boots and knew I wanted this hue. Again, these are pricey but I am so happy with the quality. I ordered my normal size.
- Brown Midi Skirt
- If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I love a monochrome moment. I am a huge fan of doing that with a midi skirt and knew I needed to add a brown one to my collection. I’m very excited to style this one. I ordered my normal size.
