White jeans, white t-shirt and white sandals – without these three pieces in my closet I don’t feel truly ready for summer. I typically buy a new version of each at the start of the season because let’s face it – white pieces are hard to maintain. This year was no different, and the white pieces I’ve picked up for this summer are some of my favorites to date.
White Jeans
Ahhh white jeans, I love you so much but a good pair of you are so, so hard to find. There are a few things I look for when on the hunt for a new pair of white jeans, including sturdiness, how see-through they are, and fit (obviously). I 100% do not like a flimsy pair of white jeans. Being that they are well, white, it’s important that the material is sturdy. If it’s not, the jeans run a risk of being extremely unflattering – meaning you will be able to see e v e r y t h i n g (yes I am talking about cellulite). I definitely have some cellulite, and if I can see it through a pair of white jeans they are not coming home with me. Similar to sturdiness, you want to make sure the white jeans you are looking at are not see-through. Depending on the brand, I’ve found that some material is just more see-through than others. You might not always notice it in dressing room lighting, but once you get them home try looking at them either outside or in a brighter light to double check. Lastly, I am always on the hunt for the perfect fit. Again, since these are white pants we are talking about you want to make sure that the fit is on point. It’s taken me a while, but after trying on a ton of different pairs I’ve found that J. Crew white jeans just fit me the better than most. It takes some time and dedication, but eventually you’ll find a brand that works well for you!
This year I opted for a wider leg white jean (seen in these photos), and so far I’m a fan. They are a little bit different than my usual skinnies, but I’ve found them to be very comfortable, casual and chic.
White T-Shirt
Unlike the search for white jeans, I find the search for a good white t-shirt to be much easier/enjoyable. I love white t-shirts, and if my budget was limitless I would probably own hundreds of them. I’ve picked them up from numerous stores in the past, but this year I snagged this one from J. Crew and I like how it’s a bit oversized.
White Sandals
White sandals were a new addition to my white summer staples this year and honestly now I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without a pair. I’ve been wearing these white sandals I picked up at Lord & Taylor almost every day and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I love the wooden heel on this pair, but I also want to pick up a flat pair for more casual summer occasions. I feel like a pair of white sandals look so crisp, especially when paired with an all-white outfit for a summery, monochrome look.
