We made it to September! I’ve always loved this month, and this year I’m particularly excited. I’m ready for a fresh start and a new season, and although I’m excited for fall, I still want to savor these last few weeks of summer. Ironically though, it seems all the best fall pieces come out/go on sale right around this time of year… 🤪
That being said, I thought it would be helpful to share three pieces I rely on heavily during this month, aka my September staples. Whether you’re working from home, going back to school or penciling in a last minute getaway, these pieces can be worn again and again, season after season.

SWEATER BLAZER
Honestly, I could (and probably should) do a full blog post on this sweater blazer. I’ve had this piece in my closet for close to three years now, and I’ve come to rely on it even more since I’ve been working from home. This is the best layering piece in my closet, and I love styling it over denim or white button down shirts, striped tees, tanks, pretty much anything.
If you consider buying anything I share in this post, I’d say this should be it. The quality is great, comes in a slew of neutral colors and elevates the look of any outfit. WHITE JEANS
You’re all probably sick of me going on and on about these white jeans, but truly they are just that good. I don’t buy into all that no white after Labor Day BS, and if I’m being honest I’m confused as to why people even make it a thing…
You’ll find me wearing these year round, but I love wearing them from summer-to-fall because they pair well with sweaters. These jeans are sturdy, high waist (aka they suck you in), comfortable and not see through. LONG SLEEVE STRIPED SHIRT
As the weather starts to cool down, I love to layer over a long sleeve striped shirt. I’ll pretty much wear one under any sweater I own, but particularly love them paired with the sweater blazer I shared above. I also love them alone, tucked in, with white jeans (or denim) and sneakers — it’s a perfect September outfit.
