I’m writing this post from the airport in Mexico City and I am so, so excited to be coming home! I thought I’d take advantage of the hour and a half I have before my flight to share a little bit of my recent travels, a new job update and a few things I’ve been loving lately.
The last two weeks have been very busy with back to back work travel. My first trip was to National Harbor (right outside Washington D.C.) and then two days later I left for Mexico City.
We had a free day in Mexico City so a few coworkers and I headed to Teotihuacán to check out the pyramids — specifically the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. We climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (the largest one) and it was such an amazing experience. It was definitely scary climbing to the the top (there’s only a rope to hold on to lol), but I’m glad we did. If you ever find yourself in Mexico City I recommend making the 40 minute trip.
After checking out the pyramids we made our way to La Gruta for lunch. La Gruta is a restaurant in a cave and they have live cultural performances throughout the day. We caught a few while we were eating and it was definitely a fun experience.
Besides our day at the pyramids I really didn’t see much of Mexico City besides dinners out. On our last night we went to a restaurant called Terraza Cha Cha Cha which overlooked the most beautiful monument. The food and margaritas were delicious and it was the perfect end to the trip.
I started The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand on my flight to Mexico City and I can’t put it down. Somehow this is the first book I’ve read by Elin and I can’t wait to read more of her work. This one is getting me excited for our trip to Nantucket in a few weeks!
Cheers to new beginnings. Mexico City was my last work trip in my current role at Gartner. Starting Monday I’ll be moving over to the global corporate communications team, specifically the social media team, where I’ll be focusing on Gartner’s conferences. It’s an exciting move for me as my career at Gartner started in conferences and now I’m excited to merge my experience there with my love for all things social media. I plan on drinking lots rosé this weekend to celebrate! 🙂
This dress! I shared a photo of this dress in my last Life Lately post, but I wanted to call it out here because it’s currently 48% off! It’s so light and comfortable for summer and I love the color.
Locali. Local friends, if you’re anywhere near New Canaan (or Mount Kisco — they just added a new location) run don’t walk to Locali. This restaurant has been a staple for Bill and I (personally it’s my favorite) the last three years. Their kale salad is my absolute favorite and the wood-fired pizza is amazing. The last time we were there the chef brought out this dessert for us and it was SO GOOD. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat this weekend definitely go here.
Last but not least, I started Gracie and Frankie on Netflix while I was in Mexico City and I’m obsessed. I’ve heard people talking about this show for a while and it definitely lives up to the hype. It’s light, funny and the cast is great. It’s a good show to watch if you’re trying to get over the fact that The Office is leaving Netflix in 2021.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
