Looking Back On 2018

…via my iPhone camera roll.

2018 was a crazy year. There were lots of highs and a few lows, but all in all, I am extremely grateful for everything that came my way. In fact, I was feeling a little bit nostalgic about this year coming to an end, so I decided to go through my camera roll and share my favorite moments from the last 365 days here on the blog.

JANUARY

Kicked off 2018 with a business trip to San Diego and made a pitstop in LA with some coworkers to visit our friend (and coworker) who lives there! Pretty sure the sunset we saw while having dinner at the Hotel del Coronado was the most beautiful sunset I’ll ever see in my life.

FEBRUARY

I celebrated turning 27 pretty much the entire month. I kicked things off with a Valentine’s Day-themed birthday brunch with my friends from college, and then Bill and I celebrated with dinner at Parm (one of my favorites in the city) and drinks at the Plaza, complete with a surprise visit from best friend Becca and her boyfriend.

MARCH

March was busy. I had an event in Dallas then flew straight from there to Las Vegas for a family wedding! It was so fun to be in Vegas with my parents, brother and Bill. We had a great dinner at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stonecrab, my mom and I hit up Drybar and we celebrated my cousin and her new husband!

From Vegas, Bill and I rented a car and drove to Palm Springs. We made a pit stop at Joshua Tree National Park, before making it to our final destination. We had the absolute best trip and stayed in my now favorite hotel– Holiday House Palm Springs. I can’t wait to go back!

APRIL

I started out April with a work trip to São Paulo, Brazil, and came home just in time to throw Bill a pretty epic 30th birthday party.

MAY

I feel like I’m definitely forgetting everything that happened in May, but I wasn’t traveling for work, so Bill and I took advantage of that and enjoyed a lot of food and drinks (per my camera roll…). We crossed Freemans off our NYC restaurant bucket list, enjoyed lobster rolls at Match Burger Lobster in Westport and tried out the new (at the time) Mexicue in Stamford.

JUNE

June started out with bachelorette party in The Hamptons for my favorite lady Britny. We rented a great house and had so much fun hanging out by the pool after late nights out (with lots of feather boas).

After Britny’s bachelorette came her gorgeous wedding.

Then towards the end of the month Bill and I finally made it to Roberta’s in Brooklyn and spent some time in the sun.

JULY

July was a fun one. It started off by spending 4th of July at the beach here in Connecticut with our good friends, and a week later we celebrated our three year anniversary!

The next weekend we headed down to Long Beach Island with my parents for the second year in a row. We had an amazing dinner at The Gables which is now one of my favorite restaurants and had the best weather. I hope we make this trip happen again in 2019.

AUGUST

Another busy month. We took a trip out to Minnesota and Wisconsin to spend time with Bill’s family and family friends. We started the trip in Solon Springs, Wisconsin at a friend’s cabin on the lake, and then made our way to Lake Wissota to spend time at Bill’s aunt, uncle and grandfather’s houses for the rest of our trip.

After our trip to the Midwest, I headed back out to San Diego for another work trip. After a long event, my friend Molly and I took a day trip to La Jolla which was the highlight of the week!

SEPTEMBER

September started with a really fun weekend in the city wedding dress shopping for my best friend Courtney! I’m the MOH in her wedding taking place September 2019 and I’m pretty excited. From there I headed to London for work and spent a little time before and after my event there sightseeing!

OCTOBER

Before heading to Orlando and Australia for work for most of the month, I spent some time at home with family and friends. Once October 24th hit I was off to Australia for the trip of a lifetime, and would be there until November 10th. Below is a picture from an Octoberfest in Stamford pre-travel, and then there are two from Gold Coast, Australia where I was working before Bill came out to meet me. Best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life!

NOVEMBER

Bill flew out to meet me after my work trip in Australia and we traveled to Byron Bay, Melbourne and Sydney. It’s almost impossible to pick just a few pictures from this trip because it was such an unreal experience and I have so many photos! I am hoping to get my act together in 2019 and put together a complete Australia post with our full itinerary.

Once we were back from Australia we celebrated Thanksgiving at the Thanksgiving Day Parade with my family!

DECEMBER

December started off with my last work trip of the year to Las Vegas. Once I returned we headed out to Chicago for Bill’s company Christmas party and to spend time with Bill’s sister and her husband who live in the city. We had such a fun weekend with them and can’t wait to go back in 2019! For the holidays we were lucky enough to stay close to home. We spent Christmas Eve with Bill’s family and then hosted my parents on Christmas Day at our apartment.

Alright, so that was my 2018! I know this was a long post, but I really wanted to document everything so that I can look back it for years to come.

Thank you all so much for following along this year, and I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2019!

Xo,
Emily
