Post-Travel Skincare

Post-Travel Skincare

Happy almost 4th of July! With one of the biggest weeks/weekends for getaways and vacations right around the corner, I thought I would share some of my favorite products for post-travel skincare. I love to travel, but my skin does not necessarily feel the same way. I feel like once I return home from a long weekend (or week) away my skin looks dry, tired and usually broken out. Planes and hotels can be super drying, and if you’re skin is sensitive like mine can be, a change in water and diet (i.e. drinking, greasy food) can lead to all sorts of unpleasant skin situations.

Once the fun is over and I’m back home from my trip, it seems like I always need a few days, and products, to whip my skin back into pre-vacation shape. That’s where the five products below come in…

1. Fresh Beauty’s Rose Face Mask

This mask is a staple in my beauty routine, but it really shines after a long trip, due to its toning and moisturizing properties. Formulated with rosewater, real rose petals and “smart” algae, this mask helps to hydrate skin where it needs it most, while making dry, tired skin look radiant and refreshed. The calming and brightening benefits from its green tea extract, aloe and cucumber ingredients don’t hurt either!

2. Care/Of Vitamins

I’ve mentioned these vitamins on the blog before, but I really do love them. Sometimes while traveling I tend to fall off my supplement routine, so once I get home I try to get back on track as soon as possible. When it comes to skincare, I specifically love the Astaxanthin that’s included in my daily packet. Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant that is great for skin health. If you’re interested in trying out Care/Of vitamins you can use the code Lucille50 for 50% off your first month!

3. First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream

This moisturizer is another product you’ve definitely heard me talk about, but that’s because it truly is one of the best moisturizers I’ve ever used! When it comes to extremely dry post-travel skin, this product is a necessity. It provides pretty much instant relief from dry skin and all of the problems that come with it. After a long flight (sometimes even on the flight) I love applying this cream to help bring my skin back to life.

4. GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment

When it comes to breaking out, my skin tends to be quite sensitive to changes in diet and water. When I travel, using the water from different showers and sinks to cleanse my face does not usually sit well with my skin. Additionally, vacation diets tend to be filled with cocktails and greasier-than-normal foods, which for me equals a nice breakout. I recently discovered this GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment, and I haven’t looked back. The Activated-X charcoal in this mask helps to lift away skin congestions and dirt to reveal clearer, more refined and healthier looking skin.

5. Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy Skin Protectant

Although this product can be used on dry skin, I find myself using it mostly on my lips. There isn’t a product that helps to moisturize dry lips out there better than Aquaphor! I have been using this stuff for years, and I always go back to it. In addition to its crazy moisturizing properties, it actually helps to heal any cracks that may have resulted from severely dry lips. I definitely can’t live without this one!

I hope these products help you all as much they help me after spending little bit of time away from home. What are some of your favorite post-travel skincare products? I would love to hear from you!
