It’s been quite a while since my last blog post, and part of that is due to the fact that Bill and I have been away every weekend for the last six weeks. Between weddings, a long weekend trip to Nantucket (guide coming soon!) and a bachelorette party, life has been pretty crazy. Crazy good and fun — but nonetheless crazy.
With a few weddings in a row I knew I would need a bunch of dresses. My plan was to invest in a couple dresses that I could wear to multiple events combined with wearing a few pieces I already had in my closet. I was pretty set on that plan until I was sent a really, really great Rent the Runway Unlimited discount code…
I received the code at the beginning of August which was perfect timing since we had a busy month ahead. Since then I’ve rented multiple pieces that I’ve worn and loved. I’ve really been enjoying RTR, but I did end up purchasing a few good quality dresses that I can wear again and again. Below I’m rounding up all of the Rent the Runway dresses I’ve worn along with the dresses I purchased for the recent weddings we’ve attended.
This is one of the wedding guest dresses I purchased. I was in the market for a slip dress, and when I tried this raspberry one on I really liked how it fit. I love how versatile this piece is (I wore it out to dinner at a bachelorette party last weekend), and it can definitely be dressed up or down. I sized down as I found it ran pretty large.
This is another dress that I purchased. I ordered this maxi from J.Crew for a beach wedding and it was absolutely perfect. It was out of stock in a bunch of sizes for quite a bit, but it seems to be restocked and on sale! This is another dress that can definitely be dressed up or down. I ordered my regular size and it fit perfectly.
Two weeks ago we made our way down to Baltimore for an Indian and Catholic wedding weekend. It was such a beautiful weekend, and so different than any event I’ve ever been to before. I needed three dresses since there were multiple events and ceremonies, so I ordered a couple from Rent the Runway.
I ordered the dress above for the Welcome Party and Sangeet. The style was great for the event that I was at, but overall it’s a great choice for any summer wedding. Bill was giving a speech that night so the groom brought him back a traditional outfit from India to wear — we didn’t plan it, but we definitely matched. I ordered my normal size.
I wore this BA&SH metallic maxi from Rent the Runway to the Hindu Wedding Ceremony and Lunch, and would definitely rent it again for another event. I ordered my normal size in this dress as well.
Last but certainly not least is the Reformation dress I wore to the final wedding reception of the weekend. I’d been eyeing this dress for a long time, so I decided to order it. I sized up based on reviews, but I want to have it taken in slightly. We have a wedding Labor Day Weekend and I plan on wearing this dress to it. I know I will continue to reach for this one year after year.
